Silent Night...Yeah Right!

Ky's sister gave the twins these outfits. Its totally the truth! I couldn't even get both of them happy/awake/smiling/looking together for the picture, but I think it gets the point across. Last night the babies only got up 2 times to eat, it was awesome! Now that they are getting bigger hopefully we will have a few more silent nights in our future!

2 Months

Porter and Harper are 2 months old tomorrow. Time flies! They are smiling all the time now, I love it. We haven't captured their smiles very well with the camera yet, because I think we get caught up with just watching them do it! It has been fun to get to see their little personalities. And the best news for Ky and I is that the last 2 nights they have slept a little better too! We are such proud parents of our kids. We LOVE them so much!

It's official....I quit!

Today I officially resigned from my RN position in the newborn nursery. I have always wanted to be a stay at home mom and now with 3 kids it is the perfect time. Although my work was filled with long, busy, crazy hours and lots of drama, I will miss the women I worked with soooo much! When you work 12 hour shifts with people you tend to share a lot of information (good and bad)! I am grateful to everyone who took such great care of me and my babies and for the friendships I have made! I plan to keep up with my license and maybe one day I'll return, but for now I'm SO GRATEFUL to be at home with my kids!

Smiles

Harper woke up yesterday morning bright and early with the most beautiful smile on her face. Just looking at her smiling face made the sleepless hours in the night disappear. Both babies have smiled here and there, but yesterday I felt like she was happy to see me. It melted my heart and I was almost in tears , yelling for Ky to come see. It was awesome. The first real smiles are the BEST! I was too into staring at her to grab the camera, but soon I hope to get some pictures of them both smiling!

Crazy days, nights...and outfits!

We are coming up on the 6 week mark of having the twins. Things are going really well. We couldn't love them more. I'm loving staying home with my kids. The nights can get a little long, some are better than others. Sometimes they wake up every 2 hours to eat and considering that it usually takes at least 45 min. to feed, burp, change them both, and put them back to sleep, it doesn't leave much time to sleep. We are hanging in there. They are both growing like crazy and that's all that matters. Kynnady continues to crack us up. She is so sweet. She has been dressing herself and changing her outfits usually at least twice a day. They can get pretty funny. Check out my kids below...Kynnady had just eaten a chocolate chip cookie in first picture.

One Month

The babies are one month old. I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. They are doing great and we love them so much. We are starting to see their personalities more everyday. I can't believe how girly Harper is and that Porter seems to be all boy! Kynnady is a great big sister. She calls Harper "Teensy" because she is tiny, teensy, weensy and she loves Porter because he is her "Brudder". Nights can be a little crazy around our house, but I'm sure thats expected with 2 newborns. Overall everything is GREAT!

Happy Halloween

Just wanted to share some of our Halloween pictures. Kynnady was a doctor this year. She has wanted to be a doctor for probably 6 months. I thought she might change her mind by the time Halloween rolled around, but she didn't. She looked so cute and she had a really time. Who wouldn't love free candy! And I loved the weather. The twins just wore matching outfits that said "Mummy loves me." They are adorable. I carry our camera around with us but I often forget to take pictures or the ones I take don't turn out as well as I'd like. These are the best ones I got this year.

My Man Tag

Happy Birthday Ky!
Ky turns 26 years old today! I was tagged by Emily so I thought today would be a great day to share a little more about my amazing husband!

What is your husband's full name: Kyler Robert Close

How long have you been married? 4 1/2 years

How long did you date? A long time. I remember telling my mom in 9th grade that I was going to marry him, so about 6 years before we got married.

How old is he? 26 Today! Happy Birthday!

Who eats more sweets? I do! Ky doesn't even really like chocolate, CRAZY!

Who said "I love you" first? Ky, (when we were in 9th grade)

Who is taller? Ky

Who can sing best? Ky. He is really good and I don't have a musical bone in my body.

Who is smarter? Ky, I swear he teaches me something new every day.

Who does the laundry? Me, most of the time

Who pays the bills? Me

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Ky...its closest to the door. He can protect me from there.

Who mows the lawn? Ky. I have never mowed the lawn in my life.

Who cooks dinner? We both do. Ky's meals are way more elaborate and usually better. We watch the food network most nights before bed. We both love food!

Who drives? Ky drives. I enjoy being able to help the kids if needed and being able to look through my planner. I could spend the whole car ride even if its 5 min. or 5 hours looking at the calendar and making a "to do" list. Ky always gives me a hard time about that!

Who kissed who first? We had our first kiss after our 9th grade spring dance, at the drive-in. Ky initiated it, I was way too scared.

Who asked who out first? Ky

Who wears the pants? We both do at times!

Happy Birthday, Babe! You are the best husband and father! I'm so glad I have you!

I tag: Lindsay and Cami

A Blur

Tomorrow the twins will be a week old. It has gone by so fast....it all seems like a blur, but the best blur ever. We are getting adjusted to life at home with 3 kids. It has been so great, but a little hectic at times. When you love all your kids the same...its hard to show attention and make sure they all feel loved at the same time. Ky has been a great help. He has really helped Kynnady. He has planned fun "daddy daughter" dates. When it was snowing he took her to the beach and they swam in the ocean (see the picture above). He has also had fun putting Porter in his cowboy hat and playing "catch" with Harper. The twins are really good babies. I don't know how we got so lucky. They both are jaundice, but I think they've hit their peak with that now. They are sleeping, eating, and diapering machines...which is all great. I feel so blessed! Even through sleep deprived eyes I totally LOVE my life! And please don't worry about me cleaning.....I really haven't done much.

Babies Have Arrived!

This is Ky and I have no idea what I am doing. Shelby is a little busy right now, I don't know why??? :) She asked me to put some pictures of our little ones on here. Were just a little proud! Our little ones finally arrived! Thursday morning at 11:14 a.m. Porter Vaden Close joined our family and at 11:34 a.m. Harper Rae Close followed. Porter weighed in at a strapping 6lbs 4 ounces and Harper weighed in at a large 5lbs 8 ounces. Everything went really smooth and they are both doing great! We brought them home yesterday (Saturday) and have had a great time with are three kiddos. Life is good! Shelby is also doing great. She is already back cleaning, its amazing. Good thing too becasue it probably wouldn't get done. Thanks to everyone who has helped out. Is amazing at times like these how you realize how many people have your back. Its awesome.

Baby update

I went to the doctor today. Both babies are vertex still and measuring great. Our boy weighed in at 5 lbs. 2 oz. and our girl at 5lbs. 15 oz. The nurse didn't feel like our boys measurements were completely accurate because he was being sooo squished by his sister, (she was thinking he was a little bit bigger than that.) I was hoping to have progressed a lot this past week so my doctor would either induce me today or that I would stay about the same because he is going out of town this weekend. I'm a 3....so chances are I'll be able to make it to the 9th. It seems a little disappointing because I'm getting so big and uncomfortable and having quite a few contractions, but I can do anything for 8 more days, especially if it will help the babies. Maybe the extra time will help us decide on what we are going to name them.

Where a kid can be a kid

Tonight we went to Chuck E. Cheese's along with a million other people. It was packed! We had a really fun time though. Kynnady absolutely loved meeting Chuck E. Cheese. It was a place where a kid could be a kid, if you were willing to wait in line to play the games:)

My prince

This morning while eating breakfast Kynnady asked me, "Mom, you know that story where the princess kisses the frog and he turns into a prince?" I said "Ya." Then she asked, "Is that what happened with you and Daddy, was my Daddy a frog?" I told her that her Daddy has always been a prince. I thought it was so cute. She lit up and smiled. She loves her dad so much. Ky has been an extra big help lately. He has been taking very good care of me/us. Thanks-my prince. I love ya! Also today is my last day of work! Yea!

34 weeks

I went back to the doctor today. Everything still is looking good. I was having a lot of contractions this past weekend, so I was glad to hear that he thinks I will be able to carry them a few more weeks still- I am only dilated to a 1. On ultrasound our boy weighs 4 lbs. 8 oz. and our girl 4 lbs. 10 oz. It is always hard for me to really tell what they look like from an ultrasound, but they both looked like they had chubby cheeks. The first picture is a profile shot of our girl and the second is of our boy-it is kinda hard to tell.

Tumbling

Kynnady just started taking a tumbling class. She is learning a lot and having a great time. We are so proud of her. She is growing up so fast. Today is also a milestone for us with this pregnancy....we are down to 1 month.....30 days or less and counting. Yea! We are getting so excited!

Rattoos

Last week Kynnady was making "arts" (drawing, coloring, glueing, etc.) and next thing I knew she has drawn a big, beautiful design on her knee with a black marker. She said, "Mom, look a I've got a rattoo." Later that night she asked Ky when she could get a real rattoo. We thought it was pretty funny. Well, today she was proud to come home from Grandma's with her new rattoos on her arms. She was even happier than we didn't scrub them off in the bath (yet)! When I asked her to pose for pictures tonight, she would only do tough girl faces- I guess that comes with the rattoos.

Pictures of Kynnady

My sister-in-law, Brinley, took some darling pictures of Kynnady. I just wanted to share them. I'm so grateful for her talent, because I usually catch the back of her head. Thanks Brin!

30 weeks

I had my 30 week ultrasound today. Everything continues to look good. Our boy weighs about 2 lbs. 9 oz. and our girl weighs about 3 lbs. 1 oz. Right now they are both head down...which is great, if they stay that way. It just means that 4 arms and 4 legs are poking my ribs:) Kynnady is so funny at my doctor appointments. She just chats up a storm with Dr. Hurst and his staff. I can't believe how soon the babies will be here. Our double stroller and 2 new car seats came today. I think we are getting pretty close to being all ready for them. I know that we are ALL getting excited!

Big Sister Class

Today we took Kynnady to a sibling class at Davis Hospital. She learned all about being a big sister. She practiced holding her (2) babies, swaddling them, and providing all the baby cares for them. We enjoyed watching her learn about what to expect here in the near future. She is going to be an awesome big sister!

Golf Tournie

Today Ky and his friend Brandon played in the North Ogden Kiwanis Golf Tournie. I just wanted to brag for a minute (Ky would love this if he knew) because they won. They won the Mens Least Putts and the Mens (under 50) Team Low Score. I'm so proud of him. It is great because I know he is a wonderful husband and dad, but its fun to have him succeed in other areas too! Way to go, Babe! I love ya!

Girly Day

Kynnady and I decided to have a "girly day." We did mani's and pedi's and straightened Kynnady's hair. She looked so grown up. It was so much fun to be able to hang out together and do big girl, fun stuff. We also went to lunch with my Grandma, Mom, sister-in-law and her kids. What a fun day.
