1st Grade
Kynnady started school. She is excited to go all day and ride the bus both ways to school this year. She was super excited about school lunch, but after trying it for a few days she is over it. She is happy that on full days she'll have 3 recesses and that her best friend is in her class. She was sad that the boy she thinks is cute is not in her class, but after thinking about it she has now decided that he may have been a distraction anyway.
We hope you have a great school year Kynnady! We are so proud of all you do!

getting home
Home
We made it home. It is nice to be back. I flew home with the kids so Kynnady could be ready to start school. The kids did great on the plane ride, especially considering we woke up at 4:00 AM. Ky drove home (27 hours straight with only a 45 min. nap),with the rest of our stuff the following week. We were so glad to have him home with us. You almost wouldn't believe I was happy because of the way he packed the car. I had everything organized into plastic bins before I left, but in order to fit everything in the back of the car he took everything out and made the car look like this....

Pittsburgh
We took a little trip to Pittsburgh over the weekend to see some good friends of ours, the Mocks. I'm so glad we did. We had such a great time seeing them and the city they live in. We were able to do a lot of fun things in a short time that we had to visit. We got to visit and see their cute house and the kids got to see and play with their little girl Paisley. Then we went to eat at an awesome cheesesteak restaurant-yummy. Next they took us into the city to the Duquesne Incline. We rode a tram to the top and got an amazing view of the city. It is such a pretty city. I loved all the water and bridges. It has a lot of character. Then we went downtown by the Steelers Stadium and took the kids by the river walk to play at a water fountain. The kids enjoyed cooling off and playing around. To finish off the day were were treated to some sweet treats. A physician friend of Brady's had some "sweet" connections to a famous candy and ice cream shop. We were spoiled with some delicious treats. We are so grateful for such great friends. Thanks for the awesome day Brady, Laurel and Paisley!

remembering Ohio
Schmidt's Sausage House
Downtown in German Village there is another fun restaurant that was featured on the T.V. show Man vs. Food. Ky has been wanting to try it out. He loves good sausage. The the restaurant was Schmidt's Sausage house. It was different. I enjoyed my regular (turkey sandwich) and it had sweet kraut on it with German potato pancakes and applesauce. Ky liked some of his meal and other parts he did not. He liked his mac and cheese the best. We all like the cream puff dessert we got though. Overall it was a fun place to try and visit, but German food is not my favorite.
the kids
I wanted to get a picture of the kids in front our our house here. I guess I wasn't thinking how hard that would be. Anytime they are outside they just want to run and play or the be silly for the picture. Good thing they are so stinkin cute! Even though the pictures aren't perfect, I still love them because it'll remind of of this summer.
pool fun
friends
Kynnady has made some really nice friends out here. Our neighbor behind us has a 5 year old daughter and she babysits two 5 and 6 year old girls. Kynnady has enjoyed getting to know them and playing this summer. We love our little back patio to eat on and play outside on. The kids have loved splashing around in Porter's water table this summer too.
