Last week we visited one of the beautiful places that I've ever seen, Hocking Hills. We went to Old Man's Cave and saw the most beautiful landscapes and waterfalls. We took some good pictures, but I feel like it doesn't even do it justice. Afterwards we found a really good BBQ place to eat at. We enjoyed the day so much we are looking forward to making the trip there again, and next time we will bring our swimsuits.

Zoombezi Bay
olumbus Zoo has a fun water park attched to it. We were able to snag a couple tickets to the grand opening. We had so much fun. Kynnady and Harper really enjoyed the slides and getting wet. It took Porter a little while to warm up to the chilly water, but he for sure didn't want to leave when it was time. Some of my friends watched the kids so me and a friend of mine were able to go on a big water ride called the cyclone. I think we screamed like 12 year old girls. It was so much fun! It was a great way to start the summer.

Kirtland
We were able to go visit church sites in Kirtland, Ohio. It was such a neat place to see. Just like when we were in Nauvoo, we had really rainy, cool weather, but I'm so grateful that we were able to make the trip.
In the room of the school of the prophets, Harper was so sweet. The twins were very tired that day and they weren't so excited to reverently tour the sites. Ky had to take Porter out and I was nervously watching Kynnady and Harper so they didn't touch things they weren't supposed to. Harper carefully sat so quietly on a stool and listened to the missionaries tell us about the history. The sister missionary afterwards commented on what a sweet spirit little Harper had in that room as she listened to their words. She may have not understood their words, but everyone in the room was able to feel the Spirit.
Joseph's and Emma's bed
a baby bottle- Kynnady guessed what this was. I had no idea
the family bath tub
The Kirtland church history sites were beautiful. Afterwards we were able to go to the Kirtland temple. It was interesting to see. A beautiful building and we enjoyed learning some of the history, but misssed the peace and joy felt in a dedicated house of the Lord.

Feeding the duckies
Ohio has gorgeous landscaping. It is so pretty and green here. All around our town there are cute, little ponds and they frequently have ducks and other birds in them. We have enjoyed afternoons of walks and feeding the ducks. The kids like to throw the birds a few bites of bread then eat the rest themselves and repeat.
Columbus Zoo
We bought zoo memberships to the Columbus zoo and aquarium. It is a huge, awesome zoo and it is only about a 15 minute drive from our house. The kids have had a blast there so far. Porter hasn't stopped making monkey sounds. He thought they were hilarious. I think it will be a fun year for the kids to learn and see the animals up close. We hope to make frequent visists there.
