Hayden Run waterfall

About 5 minutes away from our house is a little waterfall that you can hike to. It is beautiful. The kids loved the waterfalls mist.

mall

I try to take the kids and go find something to do just about everyday. Last week there was a new dip-n-dots that opened in our mall. They gave us yummy samples which we happily enjoyed. But as a bonus they had a clown that did balloon animals and face painting. The kids loved it. We have some really awesome malls if anyone wants to come visit.

A way fun park

We found a really awesome park that is close to our house. It is a dream land for kids. There is a splash pad, toddler play area, sand park with digging tools, forts, water guns, farm animals that spray water out of their mouths into watering troffs, big kids play areas, trains, tractors, duck ponds, walking/biking trails, etc. I think we could spend all summer there. The kids love it.

Easter Egg Hunt

We got into Ohio late night the Friday before Easter. So Saturday morning we had a small Easter egg hunt with a family that also came out here to work The kids had a blast gathering eggs and playing together.

Nauvoo

We decided to stop in Nauvoo on our way to Ohio. We pretty much had the place to ourselves. I guess it starts getting busy in a few weeks there. It was a great time to go except it was a little bit cold and rainy. It was beautiful there and really nice to see all the church history there. We made it there on our second day and spent the night in Fort Madison, IA, across the Mississippi River. In the morning we went to see the sites. We went to the family center, the bakery, the blacksmith, the brick mason, and walked around the town. The kids liked learning and did Ky and I did too. It was neat to see and was not busy at all. It was a rainy morning but it stopped long enough for us to get a few family pictures by the beautiful temple. On our way out of town we stopped at the Carthage jail. We were so happy to have the opportunity to see and experience all the history there.

Journey to Ohio

April 20, 2011
We packed up a small u-haul trailer and the jeep and prepared for a 27 hour journey back East. The kids were super excited. Kynnady and Harper were VERY sick the days before we left but they did their best and were troopers. We were prepared with lots of snacks, goodie bags with prizes from family and friends, movies, and I had wrapped small, little gifts for them to open along the way. We actually had a great time and the drive went really smooth. The kids loved staying in hotels along the way and stopping at gas stations for breaks. I can wait a few months before making the drive again, but we were blessed to have such a great adventure that hasn't stopped yet. More to come.

We Made It!

We made it to Ohio! We traveled from Utah to Wyoming, on to Nebraska where we spent our first night in Kearney. Then we headed on to Iowa and Illinois. We stayed our second night in Fort Madison, IA. We spent the morning in Nauvoo and pretty much had the town to ourselves. We had a good time and it was nice to see the history there. Then we went to the Cathage jail on our way to Indiana. Then we finally made to our destination...Ohio! The kids did really awesome in the car considering that our trip hours on our car totaled 32 hours when we got here. Sweet little Harper got sick a couple times which made things "fun" for just a min. :)
It is so beautiful here. I really love it so far. The city we live in is so cute. Our house will be done in a few days so for now we are staying in a different apartment. It is brand new and nice but a little small for our growing family. Im anxious to really get us settled. Ky started work here today. He is selling Vivint home security systems. He is really excited. We are looking forward to a fun summer with new experiences. I have pictures to post, but I can't get them transferred for now. Just know that things are awesome in Ohio!
